I WANNA TELL YOU A STORY!

Hi my friend,

I have some exciting news to share with you. But first I want to ask a question - Are you good at motivating yourself?

If your answer is yes, I would love to know your best tip, so I can share it with the Tranquil Spirits tribe. If your answer is no, don’t worry because you are not alone. But how do you keep yourself motivated?

Motivation has to come from within, and starts with a determination to do something. That determination can fade, and even disappear, for a number of different reasons.

1 - Your reason for doing it is not strong enough.

2 - You listen to other people and they don’t believe in you.

3 - You begin to doubt yourself.

4 - You have limiting beliefs from your past.

5 - You start comparing yourself to others.

The simplest ways to keep yourself motivated are, to focus on the end result, only share your project with people who you know will support you, and believe in yourself.

It sounds simple, right? And really it is, but sometimes we can get lost in our own thoughts, imagination, and self chatter. We can overthink things and land up with the thought that we are not capable. We image that someone else is better than we are … and then decide there is no point even starting. The biggest one is probably the self chatter which goes on in our head … the conversation goes backwards and forwards until eventually we get so tired that we give up on everything.

If this sounds like you, and you’ve tried everything to move yourself forward with projects, new starts or just life itself, don’t feel that this is how it will always be, things can change. If you would like some personal guidance to help with this, please contact me.

THIS MAY ALSO HELP

As you know, I have a podcast called ‘Tranquil Spirits’. I share my thoughts on things that are going on in my life and give tips to help in your life. I have just started a new series where I share five ideas to help with different subjects. The first is called ‘Five Things To Bring Inner Calm’. Check it out on your favourite podcast channel and let me know if it helps. I will be talking about motivation at some point, so if you would like a more in-depth guidance on this subject, be sure to subscribe to my podcast channel so you don’t miss a new episode.

But although that is exciting, it’s not my exciting news!

BUT THIS IS - As you know, I have had my first children’s book printed, and the response to it has been brilliant. My motivation did fade at one point. It was actually when my mum passed away. She had been with me throughout the journey of my book and I was just at the point of finishing the cover … when she passed. My motivation had gone and I was no longer interested in finishing the book. But when I reached out to a dear friend and told her how I was feeling, she helped me find my motivation and I finished the book.

Since then, I have written many more stories. My grandchildren love to read them but they also like to hear me reading them. So I decided to start a podcast where I read my stories and share them on the podcast, allowing anybody to play them at anytime. It’s called ‘Grandma Has A Story’, and is available on most podcast platforms. I would love it if you would take a listen and let me know your thoughts. And in case you think they are just children’s stories, adults have been enjoying them too!!!

AND FINALLY

Don’t struggle with motivation. You CAN break the familiar patterns that seem to prevent you from getting on with something. Either listen to my podcast or reach out to me. Also, don’t think that you are not good enough to achieve a dream. YOU ARE. You can do anything you set your mind too. If you struggle with self-confidence and want to change that, reach out and arrange a session with me. It could be the motivation you need to change your life.

With gratitude and smiles,

Jacqueline
